INTRODUCTION

 

Douglas E. Griffith has been a shareholder of Kesler & Rust since 1989. In 1983, he graduated from Brigham Young University Law School and became a licensed attorney with in the State of Utah. From 1983 to 1986 Mr. Griffith worked as an enforcement and trial attorney for the United States Securities & Exchange Commission ("SEC"), where he prosecuted violations of the Federal securities laws. Upon joining Kesler & Rust in 1986, Mr. Griffith developed an extensive civil litigation practice. For the past three years he has been ranked by Utah Business Magazine as one of the top 25 civil trial attorneys in the State of Utah. A significant portion of Mr. Griffith’s practice focuses on construction law, ranging from forming construction contracts and to pursuing construction-related litigation, including mechanic\'s liens and construction bond claims. Mr. Griffith is a member and former Chairman of the Construction Section of the Utah State Bar and has represented the Associated General Contractors in matters before the Utah Supreme Court. He also works with the Utah State Legislature in writing and revising Utah laws affecting the construction industry. Mr. Griffith continues his Federal and State securities practice as well, working primarily in the areas of securities and fraud litigation, regulatory defense work before the SEC and state securities divisions, and broker/dealer representation. He is a former Chairman of the Securities Section of the Utah State Bar. Mr. Griffith is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Utah, as well as before the Federal Court of Claims.
